The Process

Idea

You have a picture in your mind of your dream gown.  Or you have tried on a dress that is similar.  You may have photos.  I will consider all of these and sketch a design that will encompass the particular features that you are looking for.

Muselin

After taking your measurements, I will create a muselin of your design.  This is a toile which can be fine-tuned for fit and style.  At this point you may make any changes you like.  This will be used as the pattern for your final garment.

Fitting

When the muselin is perfected, I will cut and stitch your fashion silk.  You will try on the gown to finalize any adjustments to the fit and establish the final hem.  You may have as many fittings as are necessary.

Finishing

I will finish the gown with a lining, hem, bustle and embellishments.  You will have a final fitting when you pick up your gown.

Timing

I recommend that you have your first consultation at least 6 months before your wedding.  This will allow for scheduling, fabric ordering, and fittings.
